I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but didn't see anywhere else.
Problem: I am trying to implement some VBA code from Access 2003 in Access 2010. The new installation is also running on Windows 7 32bit instead of the old installation running on XP 32bit.
The error message I get is ActiveX component can't create object. Which is happening on the line
Set sckStdOut = New MSWinsockLib.Winsock . In the declaration for the class I have declared
With the function that breaks it starting below
What I have tried: I have registered MSWINSCK.OCX and it is in the system32 folder. I have also referenced it inside access and can see the object under definitions.
I have attempted to make sure the control was not being blocked in the registry. I have searched on stackoverflow and other forums.
I am using existing code that still works in the previous environment and have made a few changes so far to get different parts of this system working. Originally the code read
That worked so I added the explicit reference (which the auto-complete recognises so Access is able to access it). This class is used to send commands to a unix environment but at the moment it isn't creating the object, and I do not know why. Is there anyway I can track further than to the exact line of code breaking?
